We upped the chip-in amount
6 more dogs showed up today (new faces) and we have already spent $2,000.00 + on just one of the first dogs we rescued. We have decided to up this chip-in amount instead of opening and closing so many smaller chip-in's. The reality is that we need A LOT OF MONEY TO VET ALL THESE DOGS and WE NEED FOSTER'S AND ADOPTERS. If only we could get each rescue to take one dog - we would have made a HUGE DENT IN this dire situation that is playing out in the Everglades.

Many people have asked what has contributed to this situation (so many starving and homeless dogs). WE feel it is a combination of things...

dogs running around not spay/neutered

migrant workers turning their pets loose whey they move on to jobs elsewhere

people dumping their unwanted pets or pets they just can't afford any longer (this is so wrong on so many levels).

These poor dogs are exposed to extreme elements...

The Florida sun and Humidity

Snakes

Bufo Toads

Alligators

Traffic on the highways (many are getting run over)

Dehydration

Starvation

Thanks to all of you who are helping us make a difference, because now, instead of moving pebbles, we are moving mountains!!!!! Thank you GOD for sending so many angels to work on this relief effort!!!!!
